In her practice she specializes in the treatment of anxiety and depression, trauma and trauma related issues, with a growing sub-specialty in the treatment of eating disorders. Kate’s involvement in the addiction/recovery community for over twenty years has helped her develop a special sensitivity and expertise in the field of substance abuse recovery and codependency. In 1993, Kate founded the Michigan based AWOL, A Way of Life, a women’s growth and recovery lifestyle group which she has facilitated over the past fifteen years. She also runs an ongoing psychotherapy group for women dealing with issues of intimacy.
After studying meditation for a number of years, she now incorporates a blend of self- hypnosis, guided imagery and mindfulness meditation in her work with her clients. Kate’s diverse talent and passion for integrating psychological and spiritual healing led her to the study of Kabbalah and yoga. She has worked with a professional RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) to develop and facilitate a unique yoga/psychotherapy workshop.
A culinary graduate of the New York Restaurant School, she is a chef and the author of a spiritual cookbook, Recipes for the Journey, A Cookbook and Guide to Good Health in Recovery.
